Mile racing is thrilling, for sure, but there’s nothing quite like the Peoria TT. And for 2018, the longest-running event in American Flat Track history is back for its 72nd running on August 18, 2018 at the Peoria Motorcycle Club in Peoria, Illinois.
Featuring a twisty, .6-mile, six-turn circuit with a two-tiered jump thrown in for a bit of added excitement, the Peoria TT hosts some of the most intense racing action anywhere. Fans pack themselves on the surrounding hillsides for the best possible views of the action, and with AFT Twins once again slicing and dicing on the Peoria track, the action is bigger, better and faster than ever.
Last year, perennial Peoria champion Henry Wiles once again dominated the AFT Twins field on his Kawasaki, winning his 13th Peoria national event in a row and tying legendary Chris Carr in the process for most wins there. Yamaha-mounted Jessie Janisch won the AFT Singles class with a 2.5-second win over eventual series champion Kolby Carlile.
This year, with Indian Motorcycle’s Jared Mees and Carlile out to defend their respective AFT titles, and with wily ol’ Mr. Wiles looking to stamp his name in the Peoria record books, the racing is sure to be amazing. After all, there is nothing quite like the Peoria TT!
